Orchestral & Chamber
A composition that experiments with the “marching” rhythm. The rhythm develops and transforms throughout the piece: starting on the marimba and the piano, to string pizzicato, and only moves to heavy percussion until the very climax.
Desiderium: An ardent longing of something that is gone.
In this composition, I used several exotic instruments such as the Celtic Harp that contrasts the string quartet both in timbre and in harmony.
A composition that sets up the audience with anticipation, but keeps delaying it until the very end. I experimented with the textures of the brass and woodwind sections of the orchestra used strings only for embellishment throughout most of the piece.
A minimalist piece that develops through delicate and subtle changes in instrumentation, harmony, and voice leading. The alto flute contrasts sharply with the timbre of the cor anglais, with the concert flute returning in the climax.
Memento mori: A suite that explores the journey of life, reflecting on the ordinary moments that make up our paths.
In this song, I experimented with two overlapped vocal tracks with contrasting tone in the lyrics. Not only do the melodies act as counterpoints, they also forge a conversation that intertwines while remaining audible.

The ocean sunfish is the heaviest bony fish in the world. It swims slower than a person can walk, but is the most agile divers that can reach incredible depths and migrate across oceans. Its moon-shaped body is home to dozens of parasites, yet it survives and thrives.
Through the lyrics, I used the sunfish as symbol that embodies fragility, survival, and hidden strength, transforming natural imagery into a vessel for human emotions such as alienation, burden, and resilience.
